Wow, this desk looks SOOOOOOOOO COOL! My reception area is now in the next decade! Sturdy, smooth, solid! One major problem: the hole drilled in the rail through which the front bolt attaches the long glass top to the rail was over 1/4 inch off (tried every possible permutation of orientations and bolts ... yes, I've worked construction, I'm a really smart guy, had 5 other people look at it & make suggestions, but we all concluded the same ... the hole was off over 1/4 inch). So, to assemble, I needed a 3/16 inch drill bit, round file, and a drill, and lotsa patience. The rail is curved, the original bolt hole was close enough to jam my bit when drilling the new hole, ended up putting a round file in my drill to complete the new hole, and of course I got carried away and scratched the blank out of the rail under the hole. Took 6 days of thought, attempts, and advice to assemble and clean up metal filings and styrofoam chips (also minor problem, tiny bolts were hard for my sausage fingers to get a hold of and start in the holes, but once started, easy to screw and clearly solidly locked in when tight). Other than that one hole, all else was fine ... well, packing lacks something ... styrofoam packaging was torn up when I opened it -- luckily no damage to anything, some minor scratches, but some parts were just floating around loose. If you can drill a hole and vacuum up little staticy styrofoam chips, I can highly recommend this desk. In the end, it is so cool and so solid it was worth all this hassle!
